Agriculture is changing. The tools farmers use should too.

Sustainable | Autonomous | Powerful | Adjustable

"Modern farms need modern tools, but most farm robots weren't built for real farms."

Traditional tractors are too large, too heavy and too expensive for smallholdings, sloped land and tight growing rows. They compact soil, damage crops and simply can't access many of the places that need the most attention.

Meanwhile, most agricultural robots on the market are either too fragile, too expensive or designed purely for large-scale monoculture operations, leaving smaller farms, growers on difficult terrain and those working in vineyards, orchards and polytunnels without practical options.

This Means ...

Labour-intensive tasks go unautomated. Data goes uncollected. Decisions get made on guesswork, not insight.

The RTU was built to change that.

What is the RTU ?

The RTU is an autonomous agricultural platform designed to be an adaptable and sustainable farm aid.The RTU was developed to be a new approach to the farming cycle. Rather than having the size and power to pull up an entire field, the RTU has been designed to reduce compaction to the soil, whilst maximising its capabilities.

WHAT CAN IT DO

One platform. Many possibilities.

01

Autonomous Navigation

Drive itself — so you don't have to. Using signals from over 30 satellites simultaneously combined with onboard sensors, the RTU positions itself to within 11mm of accuracy. Set a mission, deploy the robot, and monitor it remotely from your phone, tablet or computer. No operator required in the field.

02

All-Electric Operation

Clean power for continuous work. The RTU runs entirely on electric power — no diesel, no emissions, no combustion engine. It can run from mains power or operate completely off-grid. With over 24 hours of battery capacity, it keeps working long after you've gone to bed.

03

Precision Weed Control

Target weeds. Protect crops. Using cameras and a custom-trained AI, the RTU's weeding system identifies and directly targets weeds growing close to crops, removing only where needed, reducing chemical use and protecting the plants around them.

04

Soil Sampling & Monitoring

Understand the environment in detail. As the RTU trundles around, it can capture data about the environment and help to map that in detail so that you can understand at a macro level, what is changing and affecting your landscapes.

WHO IS IT BUILT FOR

The RTU was built for the farms and growers that existing technology left behind.

Research Institutions & Agritech Developers

From steep Cornish hillsides to tight polytunnel rows, the RTU was designed with real-world farming challenges in mind, not ideal conditions in a test lab. Whether you're a smallholder looking to automate repetitive tasks, a grower navigating difficult terrain, or a researcher looking for a capable and open platform to build upon, the RTU was built with you in mind.

BENEFITS

Why the RTU. Why now.

Reduce Soil Compaction

Less weight. Less damage. Healthier soil, season after season.

Own Your Data

No subscriptions, no cloud, no third parties. Everything collected stays stored locally and belongs to you.

Cut Input Costs

Data-led decisions mean less waste and more value from every input.

Adapt It As You Grow

Reconfigure the frame, swap the attachments, expand the capability. One platform that grows with your farm.

Work Safer on Slopes

Deploy on inclines you'd never risk with a tractor. The RTU locks in place if power is ever lost.

Affordable Entry Point

Professional-grade autonomous robotics at a price point built for real farms, not just research budgets.

DESIGN EVOLUTION

RTU Version 2

"Refining the platform"

Building on the lessons of V1, the second generation focused on structural refinement, testing suspension systems, drivetrain improvements and the early development of the truss frame system. V2 began to take on the recognisable form of the RTU, wider, more stable and increasingly attachment-ready with more scaffolding!

What it proved:

  • The truss frame concept was structurally sound and practically configurable

  • Wireless communication between traction units was achievable without exposed cabling

  • The platform could support real-world attachment testing in field conditions
